Brooklyn Bridge 2083

BKBR-2083 envisions a unifying solution, adaptable over time. It applies a lightweight grid system over the Brooklyn Bridge, which is designed to accommodate, expand, and grow in an organic and incremental way. This offers immediate infrastructure upgrades as well as future capacities and improvements based on user studies, and transit trends. The result is a living and responsive, smart infrastructure for all of the New York Metropolitan Area.

In response, and submitted to Van Alen Institute’s “Reimagining Brooklyn Bridge” Competition opened in 2020 by the New York City Department of Transportation.
